Ayelet Zurer's Vanessa Fisk may or may not be dead in Episode 4. The status of her death remains unknown by the end of the episode. The second season of Daredevil: Born Again presents its most unpredictable and brutal moment in its fourth episode, which ends with an extreme fight that leaves viewers unsure about Vanessa Fisk's future. The episode Gloves Off develops into a dangerous and deadly confrontation, featuring Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin.

In Episode 4, Bullseye (Benjamin Poindexter) executes the attack, which targets both Fisk and Vanessa at a fight that attracts several attendees. The chaotic sequence begins with Bullseye opening fire, which results in a deadly shooting spree. Vanessa attempts to fight back and even manages to shoot him, but the situation spirals out of control, leading to her collapse.

Bullseye's personal motivation to even the scales of evil drives him to seek revenge because Vanessa had forced him to murder Foggy Nelson, and now he wants to kill her. During this fight, Bullseye hurls a glass monument at Vanessa after being shot by her. Vanessa experiences a critical head wound as a shard drills into her skull, which leads to her falling into Wilson Fisk's embrace during the final scene.

The episode ends with a cliffhanger, which shows her status as dead, but it needs official confirmation to confirm her ultimate fate. Only the upcoming episode or the one after can bring her death to light, in case things worsen for New York City, as Vanessa's death would mean Kingpin going absolutely berserk.

'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 2 Episode 2: What Is AVTF and Why Does Fisk Use It?

While the outcome of her life remains uncertain, the results of her situation have already become evident in the upcoming episodes of the show.

New episodes of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 are released every Tuesday through Disney+. After Episode 4, the show will deliver its remaining episodes titled The Grand Design on April 14, Requiem on April 21, The Hateful Darkness on April 28, The Southern Cross on May 5, 2026, completing the eight-episode season.

On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the show will reveal a special one-shot titled The Punisher: One Last Kill, which is a Marvel special presentation. It is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and written by him as well as Jon Bernthal, who portrays the protagonist Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher. Meanwhile, if Ayelet Zurer's character truly dies, it will transform Wilson Fisk into his most lethal version yet, which will escalate the conflict with Daredevil while switching up the season's power structure.
