The show, which debuted in July 2026 and was hosted by Season 34 champion Robert Irwin along with renowned judges Mark and Shirley Ballas, soon captured the attention of devoted viewers who were anxious to see the next generation of talent.

According to IF Magazine, the dance show completed several weeks of filming in May 2026 and established its main filming base in Brisbane. The majority of Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro was shot within Brisbane's Thomas Dixon Centre. In order to set the scene for each episode, the production also included outside establishing shots of Brisbane, providing viewers with a taste of the city's contemporary skyline and riverside ambience.

The famed Queensland Ballet's home, the Thomas Dixon Centre, is at the center of the series. Additionally, the choice to select Queensland was a clever and practical move for host Robert Irwin. Irwin continues to be actively interested in wildlife conservation at the neighboring Australia Zoo in addition to his broadcast obligations. He was able to easily combine his hosting responsibilities in the ballroom with his continued work on wildlife preservation by basing the event in Brisbane.

ABC debuted Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro on July 13, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET. It can also be streamed on Hulu the next day. Throughout the season, a number of DWTS pros will also make appearances on the show as judges and guest mentors. DWTS, like any other reality show, has ample drama along with exquisite dance sequences, which is one of the show’s unique features.
