Michael C. Hall took up the beloved mantle of the vigilante serial killer with a code in the critically acclaimed Dexter: Resurrection season 1. Hall’s performance as Dexter Morgan was once again highly praised, and the new show did not let up on the emotional anchor as well, as his quest for Harrison grounds the entire narrative in the season. The success of the first season has compelled the makers to bring back Dexter for a new season and give the story some new twists and turns with the addition of new cast members.

A couple of months back, Succession fame Brian Cox joined the cast, and now another well-known face joins the action.

Reportedly, Dan Steven is set to join Dexter: Resurrection season 2 as a series regular in a major role.

Dan Stevens is stepping into the world of Dexter Morgan

A per Variety, Dan Stevens has been roped in to play a serial killer in Dexter: Resurrection season 2. In the second season of the Paramount show, Stevens will play The Five Borough Killer, Owen Stark, in a series regular role. The persona is likened to the Zodiac Killer, who contacts the police and threatens to kill innocent people. The city and the police are terrified when he carries out the horrible deeds.

The announcement comes after Brian Cox's casting as the mysterious killer from season 1, the shifty Don Framt, or infamously known as the New York Ripper. Furthermore, Uma Thurman returns as Charley, the former Special Ops officer who worked for Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage) and left the city in the Season 1 finale.

The other cast members from season 1 include Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera, and James Remar as Harry Morgan, Dexter's father. Some big names like Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian appeared in the first season as guest stars.
