Dafne Keen Negates the Possibility of a Cameo in 'Deadpool & Wolverine', Despite Latest Rumors

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to bring in a pool of superhero and anti-hero cameos, but a Dafne Keen return might not be in the playbook thus far. Despite playing coy about the possibility of returning alongside her seasoned co-star Hugh Jackman, the comeback of X-23 seems like a far-off dream for the X-Men squad gearing to star in Deadpool & Wolverine. Although the possibility had left fans all the more enthralled, the father-daughter chemistry between Logan and Laura might not have a place in the forthcoming superhero crossover.

Recently, Keen addressed the inquiries by putting a final pause on the speculations, leading fans to dismay.

The list of the priority-tagged Deadpool & Wolverine cameos continues to grow, but the creators have kept quiet about confirming the return of certain characters. Logan was originally meant to mark Hugh Jackman's final portrayal as Wolverine, but his return in Deadpool & Wolverine left the door slightly ajar for Dafne Keen as well. Despite initially playing coy, Keen recently ruled out the possibility of her return in a conversation with On Demand Entertainment during The Acolyte's UK Premiere at Leicester Square.

When asked if Keen was disappointed about not being involved in Wolverine's return, the actress admitted, "of course." Keen expressed her admiration for Jackman and appreciation for Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy's creativity. She acknowledged that while being part of the team would have been a dream come true, she is still excited to see what they bring to the table as she prepares to watch it "like a fan."

Even though Keen’s return does not seem like a possibility anymore, Jackman’s reprisal is a reality. Reflecting on the same, the Deadpool & Wolverine stars opened up about the extensive transformation Jackman had to undergo to revive the Wolverine back from the dead.

In a recent conversation with PEOPLE, Ryan Reynolds expressed his astonishment at the physical prowess displayed by Hugh Jackman upon his return as Wolverine. Reynolds detailed the immense dedication Jackman invested in stunts and choreography, leaving him deeply impressed with Jackman’s stunt work. Jackman, however, credited someone else for this achievement.

He attributed his physical prowess to the work of his stunt coordinator, Brian Smrz, who introduced him to dance training. Jackman mentioned that returning to the training regimen was "really fun," despite initial soreness, and he was "thrilled" to see his body responding positively. Thus, while Dafne Keen might not be showcasing her X-Men abilities, her on-screen father, Wolverine, is all set to deliver his rivals a one-way ticket to hell on her behalf.
