This year, Cynthia Erivo will not be walking the Golden Globes red carpet and the event, which is set to be on January 11, because she is working on rehearsals for her upcoming West End production, Dracula, in London. The show is scheduled to run from February 4 to May 31, according to Variety.
What really turns heads is this challenging show, Dracula, which is a one-woman stage adaptation of Bram Stoker’s legendary novel. And Cynthia Erivo will play 23 characters on stage. The pressure is understandably high, especially as this will be her return to the West End for the first time since she played Celie in The Color Purple back in 2015.

She will be making history as the first Black woman to be nominated twice in the same category, as she gets nominated for Best Actress — Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy (for Wicked: For Good) at the Golden Globes, as per Variety.
Even more impressive, Wicked: For Good, picked up five nominations at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards. And she could be bagging more accolades if the much-anticipated Dracula becomes a success. That said, will Cynthia Erivo also play the role of Elphaba in the Broadway adaptation of Wicked: For Good?

As for Cynthia Erivo, she made her Broadway debut as Celie in the 2015 revival of The Color Purple and even earned the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Now, it might be the right time for Cynthia Erivo, who recently was part of Jesus Christ Superstar, to take up more challenging roles, such as Dracula.
