The series will explore the story of the original culprit, Pamela Voorhees, before the tragic events that took place at Camp Crystal Lake.

Featuring a brilliant cast, the show will introduce both familiar faces and new characters who become entangled in a brutal game of cat and mouse. So, here is a closer look at the actors bringing these characters to life.

The series is set before the events of the original 1980 film. It will shed light on Pamela Voorhees, the culprit in the original movie, portraying her as a grieving mother struggling with the loss of her son, Jason, who drowned in the lake. Creator Brad Caleb Kane, in his interview at the 2026 New York Comic Con, explained that the show will focus on the relationship between Pamela and Jason while also exploring Pamela’s transformation.

Although details about the series have not been revealed yet, Linda Cardellini previously hinted that the show will feature gory scenes.

Linda Cardellini’s warning for Crystal Lake

In her interview with Variety, Linda Cardellini explained that the series’ format allows its creators to explore the characters and particular scenes in much greater depth than films do. This also explains why Pamela Voorhees, who had limited screen time in the movies, has become the focus of the series. Cardellini further added that the show will feature some graphic scenes.

“It does get gory, yes, so much so that I wish sometimes they weren’t as practical as they were,” Cardellini said. “There’s a couple of gory moments on set that were very practical that were pretty gross. Blood everywhere at one point.”
