While commemorating the 20th anniversary of the staple NBC sitcom, Friends, Courteney Cox recently got a little emotional for the one they lost, Matthew Perry. In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Cox expressed gratitude for having had the chance to know and work with Perry so closely for so long. Reflecting on her profound belief in spiritual existence in life after death, Cox proceeded to reveal that “he visits me a lot, if we believe that”.

Cox explained that it is not just Perry, but she feels a spiritual connection to her deceased parents, who she also talks to. “I feel there are a lot of people that, I think, guide us”, elaborated the Friends star. She went on to explain that there is a natural sense of presence when surrounded by loved ones, and the familiar aura she experienced with Perry persists. Hence, it is primarily the senses that lead her to believe that “Matthew’s around for sure”.

When the news of Matthew Perry first made headlines on October 28, 2023, Friends fans had to deal with an unforeseen blow. However, the havoc caused within the cast was nowhere in comparison with what the world felt. Hence, to give their friend Perry a fitting send-off, the Friends cast dotted their tribute in order of their relationship with Chandler Bing from the show. First, it was Matt LeBlanc, who honored Perry and set him free, holding no grudges for the “20 bucks” he owed.

Following him, it was Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Chandler’s soulmate and wife, who found the opportunity to finally reveal to fans the inception of the ‘Mondler’ ship. Jennifer Aniston followed suit in pouring her heart while David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow sealed the tomb of tributes with the last drop of tear on their socials. Though navigating the pain was difficult back then, it seems that, over time, Cox has found a way to reconnect with Perry. This connection, reminiscent of their old bond, now serves as a guiding light for her.
