The Clueless sequel series has officially secured a 6-episode order at Paramount+ after previously departing Peacock in early 2026. Production is scheduled to begin filming in Los Angeles in 2027 following tax subsidy filings with the California Film Commission. Alicia Silverstone serves as both lead star and executive producer alongside original writer and director Amy Heckerling.

Set 30 years after the original film, the present-day narrative follows Cher Horowitz navigating successful business ventures alongside motherhood. The central conflict arises when her daughter reaches high school, leaving Cher feeling completely bewildered by modern teenage culture. This fresh parenting dynamic forces the Beverly Hills style icon to confront familiar high school drama from a whole new perspective.

Moving the project to Paramount+ brings the property directly back to its original studio home for maximum creative support. Experienced television producers Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Jordan Weiss serve as primary writers for the series. Fans can expect a stylish blend of classic nostalgic charm and contemporary humour when the show officially debuts after being homeless.
