Interstellar Live is returning to London in 2027, giving Christopher Nolan’s space epic another chance to make audiences feel very small, very emotional, and possibly reconsider the existence of time. The film has never exactly suffered from a shortage of spectacle, but there is something fitting about giving its music an entire orchestra to work with.

After all, Interstellar is a movie where a pipe organ can make a trip through a wormhole feel like a religious experience. Now, that experience is heading back to one of London’s biggest stages.

Christopher Nolan’s cosmic epic, Interstellar is getting another trip around the sun, this time with considerably more musicians involved. Interstellar Live will come to The O2 Arena in London on Sunday, May 23, 2027, with the complete 2014 film projected on the big screen while Hans Zimmer’s Academy Award- and BAFTA-nominated score is performed live. There will be two performances on the day, with a matinee and an evening show.

The 65-piece Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, presented by Cutting Edge Group Presents with City Light Concerts, will perform the score under conductor Matt Dunkley, a longtime Hans Zimmer collaborator, as per the official website. Joining them will be organist Roger Sayer, who was personally selected by Zimmer to record the organ portions of the original Interstellar soundtrack. 

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. for the matinee and 6 p.m. for the evening performance. Ticket sales O2 Priority presale begin at 10 a.m. BST on September 9, followed by the venue presale on September 10 and general sale through MyTicket on September 11.

London is only one stop in a concert journey that has already taken Zimmer’s music well beyond the cinema screen.

Interstellar Live previously reached London’s Royal Albert Hall in April 2026, where the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra performed Hans Zimmer’s score with Roger Sayer on the venue’s famous organ. Before that, the production had also played in Lucerne, Switzerland, in December 2025, with the City Light Symphony Orchestra, Sayer and Matt Dunkley.

The production is also heading to Australia in March 2027, marking its first Australian tour. The current itinerary takes in Adelaide on March 14, Melbourne on March 21, and Sydney from March 27 to 29. The Sydney Opera House is scheduled to host six performances across three days.

That is essentially the appeal of Interstellar Live: it does not turn the film into a shortened concert montage or ask audiences to choose between movie and music. Christopher Nolan’s complete 169-minute theatrical version plays from beginning to end while the score is performed live beneath it. Zimmer built the music around the pipe organ, and Sayer — the musician behind the original recording’s organ parts — recreates that sound in the room. Now, the movie’s already enormous universe has a very tangible soundtrack, ready to be experienced live.
