"All four of them were able to work in the film," Nolan told E! News. Nolan even recalled spotting one of his sons in a wetsuit, maneuvering a boat at sea.

"I'd sort of look behind a boat at sea, see a guy in a wetsuit maneuvering the boat and realize it was one of my sons," Nolan recalled. The experience brought a profound layer of personal meaning to the director, although no specific roles were revealed by Nolan.

"The Odyssey is a family story," Nolan told E! News in the exclusive interview.
