Famed actor and director Matt Ross’s upcoming project, Kockroach, has continued to make rounds online as new casting developments surface. The latest to join the conversation is Rust actor Alec Baldwin, who will be part of the cast, as per Deadline. Hemsworth had earlier joined the project, replacing Channing Tatum, who exited due to scheduling conflicts, while Taron Egerton stepped in to replace Oscar Isaac (as per Deadline).
The film, which is based on William Lashner’s novel of the same name, follows a mysterious stranger who enters New York’s criminal underworld and rises to become one of its most powerful crime lords. Jonathan Ames wrote the script, with filming expected to begin in April this year.
Until the new film or Avengers: Doomsday arrives, Hemsworth’s latest crime movie of this year, Crime 101, is certainly worth a watch.
3 reasons to watch Chris Hemsworth’s Crime 101
Based on Don Winslow's novella of the same name, Crime 101 follows a brilliant jewel thief, Davis, as he plans one big heist, while a determined detective is on his trail, trying to stop him. What makes this intriguing crime story even more thrilling is its cast. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Corey Hawkins.
The cast has also played a crucial role in the film’s release, with Hemsworth, Ruffalo, and Berry reportedly pushing for a theatrical debut rather than a streaming release. In an interview with Discussing Film, director Bart Layton revealed that both he and the cast had immense faith in the movie’s potential. And they made an effort to ensure that it is worth watching in theaters.

“We were all very focused on making a movie for the theater. I feel like we haven’t had these kinds of grown up thrillers for a while,” Layton said.
If that is not convincing enough, the film’s score on Rotten Tomatoes can be an interesting factor. Crime 101 holds a rare 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. Packed with just the right amount of adventure and brilliant storytelling, it is clearly worth a watch before Avengers: Doomsday or Kockroach arrives.
