Charlize Theron was joined by her daughters for the premiere of The Odyssey. The film's star-studded cast came together for the premiere event in New York City, with the Mad Max: Fury Road actress posing alongside her co-stars, including Anne Hathaway. However, the biggest highlight of the evening for Theron was not the glamorous red carpet, but it was having the two most important people in her life by her side.

Although they did not appear in any red carpet photos, Theron's daughters were in attendance for the premiere.

August was spotted right beside her mother. She wore a black dress paired with white knee-high socks and Doc Martens boots. She completed the look by styling her braided hair into a high bun. Theron's eldest daughter, Jackson, was also spotted in the photos, walking just behind the actress and her younger sister. Later, when Theron shared glimpses from the event on social media, she gave a heartfelt nod to her daughters, calling them the "best part" of her day.

"Best part of the night. Having my babies with me," she said.

Charlize Theron welcomed Jackson in 2012 after adopting her just ahead of the release of her hit film Mad Max: Fury Road. Now 14 years old, Jackson attends middle school. The actress has often spoken fondly about her eldest daughter and once recalled how she hilariously refused to hug her on her first day of school.

"I was like, 'Can I hug you?' She's like, 'No, no.' Oh my god. It's like a whole different game," she told PEOPLE.

In July 2015, Theron expanded her family by adopting her younger daughter, August. Now 10 years old, August shares her mother's passion for martial arts. The actress once revealed that she found August had her assistant in a headlock.

"The little one learned technical martial arts, like full technical wrestling grips. I don't know where she learned it. I came in the other day, and she literally had my assistant in like, a back lock and a full grip, and she wouldn't let go", she said on The Tonight Show.

Both Jackson and August are important parts of the actress' life. Their appearance for premiere made the event even more special for fans who rarely see the family together. As Theron herself put it, they were the "best part" of the night.
