In a recent interview, Pattinson opened up about tackling the role of the veteran To Catch a Predator host, leaning into the darker, psychological undercurrents of the assignment.

While speaking to Premiere FR at the recently concluded Venice Film Festival while presenting his psychological thriller, Primetime, Robert Pattinson spoke about how he played his rendition of the To Catch a Predator host, Chris Hansen, in the Lance Oppenheim-directed film, per The Batman Saga News, via Premiere FR,. Discussing his approach to the role, Robert Pattinson noted that he began channeling elements of The Batman into his portrayal of Chris Hansen for Primetime.

The actor observed that both figures share a penchant for making theatrical entrances, noting that while the project's script was initially conceived with a lighter comedic tone, it evolved into a tense thriller. As that shift occurred, Pattinson explained that he started infusing the character with traits reminiscent of Batman.

“As we turned it into a kind of thriller, I think I started bringing elements to the Batman, all this charismatic, juicier stuff that interferes in people’s lives,” explained Pattinson.

According to what The Batman Saga News, via Premiere FR, reported, by bringing the grit of a cinematic vigilante to the chilling reality of true-crime journalism, Pattinson is clearly aiming to give viewers a much more visceral, raw look at the men and women who sit across from the darkness. And it seems to have worked in the favor of the movie, as his performance is already generating early Oscar buzz.
