Chad Powers is set to add even more power to the football fever this year. The first season of the football comedy arrived in 2025 and quickly won over fans with its outrageous humor. While the competition continued to raise the temperature on the grid, the show's bizarre and hilarious moments brought a much-needed dose of comic relief. Now, the series is returning for another hilarious ride with Season 2.

Glen Powell as Russ Holliday, aka Chad Powers: Glen Powell is a well-known actor and screenwriter. He has previously starred in The Running Man, Twisters, Hit Man, Anyone But You, and more films and shows. Powell teamed up with Michael Waldron to create the sports comedy Chad Powers.

Steve Zahn as Coach Hudson: Steve Zahn is a renowned actor and comedian, best known for his roles in That Thing You Do!, Happy, Texas , Joy Ride, and National Security. 

Colton Ryan as Gerry: Colton Ryan previously starred as Conrad Roy in Hulu's miniseries, The Girl from Plainville. He is also known for his performance in Little Voice.

Perry Mattfeld as Ricky: Perry Mattfeld is known for her roles in In the Dark, Shameless and Wizards of Waverly Place.

Frankie Rodriguez as Danny Cruz: Frankie Rodriguez previously starred in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. 

As Deadline reported, Colin Woodell, Gillian Jacobs, Carey O’Donnell and Nate Varrone have joined the cast for season 2. Although it is not confirmed, Toby Huss and Clayne Crawford are also expected to return to reprise their roles. So, both familiar and new faces will appear for season 2 of the show.

But what is season 2 of Chad Powers about?

The first season of Chad Powers follows a disgraced college quarterback, Russ Holliday, played by Glen Powell, who is determined to revive his football dreams. He uses prosthetic makeup to reinvent himself as Chad Powers and joins the South Georgia Catfish. The first season earned praise and was much loved. Following the success, Hulu renewed the series for Season 2 in late 2025.

The first season ended with Chad’s true identity being revealed by Ricky. Season 2 will explore the fallout from the revelation and what happens to Chad after his carefully constructed disguise is exposed. So, there will clearly be more trouble in the upcoming season, which will soon arrive this year. 

Hulu has set September 3 as the premiere date for Chad Powers Season 2. September is seemingly the perfect month for the release since some real football action will also kick off at the same time. All six episodes of the new season will be released at once for fans to binge-watch the entire season.
