Cara Delevingne confirmed on The Louis Theroux Podcast that her romantic entanglement with Amber Heard began after Heard's divorce from Johnny Depp was finalised. The two had crossed paths earlier while filming London Fields, the 2018 thriller in which both Delevingne and Depp also starred. Theroux noted that Depp had reportedly been unsettled by the idea of Heard being close to Delevingne during that period.
"It's because we did a movie together, and it was called London Fields. I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy," Delevingne said on the podcast.
She then added, "Nothing was happening at that point. Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose," clarifying the precise timeline of her involvement with Heard.
Delevingne went on to describe the relationship as an entanglement on The Louis Theroux Podcast, noting that Heard was simultaneously involved with others during that same period. Theroux referenced Elon Musk by name, and Delevingne confirmed it with a simple "there you go." Heard and Musk dated until early 2018, overlapping with the tail end of her marriage to Depp, who filed for divorce in 2016 after one year of marriage.
While Delevingne spoke openly about the past, Heard herself had already broken her own silence, just not in the way anyone expected.
Amber Heard breaks silence on the Johnny Depp trial in documentary Silenced
Amber Heard addressed the lasting impact of her defamation trial against Johnny Depp in the documentary Silenced, which screened at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. Directed by Selina Miles, the film examines how defamation laws are used to silence women, and also features Catalina Ruiz-Navarro and Brittany Higgins. Heard did not recount the trial directly but spoke about losing her desire to speak publicly at all, with international human rights lawyer Jennifer Robinson, who worked alongside Heard during the trial, also participating in the project.

The trial itself was a six-week legal battle in 2022, stemming from a 2018 Washington Post op-ed that Heard wrote, which led Depp to sue her for defamation in 2019. The jury found Heard liable on all counts, ordering her to pay $10.35 million, though the case was ultimately settled with Heard paying Depp $1 million, which he pledged to charity. Since then, Heard relocated to Spain and welcomed twins, while Depp returned to work. Cara Delevingne's candid account now adds yet another dimension to a story the public clearly cannot stop dissecting.
