Wolverine fancasting has become something of a full-time mutant operation, and Robert Aramayo has found himself in the middle of it. Speaking to Variety, the actor was told that his grown-out hair made him look the part, with the interviewer suggesting he could eventually take over from Hugh Jackman. Aramayo was hardly ready to unsheathe his claws.

“I can’t even imagine,”  he said while also admitting the interviewer was "not the first person who’s said it, though."

Aramayo is hardly the only name being thrown into the Wolverine conversation. Jeremy Allen White has become a popular fan pick, with his rugged physique and emotionally intense performances making him a frequent choice. Taron Egerton has also remained a community favourite, particularly after acknowledging past meetings with Marvel executives.

As Variety brought the fancasting suggestion directly to Aramayo, his reaction offered another interesting moment in the ongoing search for Hugh Jackman’s potential successor. With fans already pitching names such as White and Egerton, the next Wolverine conversation is showing no signs of slowing down.

With Karl Urban refusing to follow in Hugh Jackman's footsteps, Robert Aramayo is becoming another intriguing name in the Wolverine fan-casting frenzy.

Why are people vouching for Robert Aramayo?

Robert Aramayo might not be the most obvious name in the Wolverine conversation, but fans have found several reasons to picture him with the adamantium claws. One major point in his favour is his physical resemblance to the comic-book version of Logan. At a comparatively shorter stature, the actor comes closer to the character's famously stocky, compact build than Hugh Jackman's towering 6-foot-2-inch frame.

There is also the matter of Aramayo's screen presence, which has demonstrated a knack for portraying troubled, brooding and emotionally volatile characters. His BAFTA-winning performance in I Swear further raised his profile, putting him on the radar of audiences beyond his fantasy television work in The Rings of Power and Game of Thrones. For fans imagining a younger Wolverine who could anchor several MCU appearances, Aramayo has become an intriguing possibility.
