While the Cannes Market does not have a red carpet adorned by the most revered celebrities like the Cannes Film Festival, it does have a barrage of cinematic masterpieces helmed by said revered celebrities on sale. This year, among the many awe-inducing titles, one was of Tom Hiddleston and Willem Dafoe's Tenzing. And having done their calculations right, Apple jumped up at the opportunity to secure the rights to the movie.

Amidst the starry Cannes, the price at which Apple secured this lustrous deal is still under the covers. Underneath, the shiny layer that sports the name of Tom Hiddleston and Willem Dafoe is an even brighter one that holds the inspiring plot of the movie: the story of Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary's Mount Everest summit in 1953. Two names etched in the history will now relive their tale in the cinematic landscape.

To make sure that the material is served due justice, Oscar-nominated Luke Davis has been made in charge of the script. Moreover, Jennifer Peedom, who won over both the world and the Sherpa community with her highly acclaimed documentary Sherpa, has exclusive rights to share the story of Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. If there is anything such as a remedy for success, perhaps this movie is it.
