However, there is not much information available about her ethnicity. She attended the Australian International School before completing her education at Lasalle College of the Arts. The actress began exploring a career in acting in 2022.

Her first roles came that year when she starred as Mei in the ITVX teen drama Tell Me Everything and played Young Rue Corintha in Foundation. In 2024, she portrayed Chloe in Steven Soderbergh’s film Presence. After starring as Lynn Kang in J.C. Lee’s Bad Genius, Liang landed the role of Chun-Li in Street Fighter.

To portray the iconic character, Callina Liang underwent training in Taekwondo, Muay Thai, and Wushu for nearly two hours a day. Alongside her intense workout routine, Liang also followed a strict diet that included eating 12 eggs a day

"When I was bulking, I ate 12 eggs a day. Every two hours I had to have a meal, and I was on the verge of throwing up. But it worked,” she told Empire Magazine.

The protein-rich diet was designed to help her build the physique needed to convincingly portray Chun-Li on screen. In the interview, Liang revealed that she added 6.5 cm of muscle to her thighs to make them appear more muscular, as required for the role, and that explains her dedication to playing the role. From her early roles in Tell Me Everything to landing the role of Chun-Li, Callina Liang’s journey has taken a major turn. And this is certainly a new chapter in her growing acting career.
