Ever since the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which follows the adventures of teenager Miles Morales, was released, Stranger Things actor Caleb McLaughlin has been hailed as a fitting choice to play the role in a potential live action adaptation. Since then, a sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has been released, and a third film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is on the way. However, there has been no update on McLaughlin being cast in the role in the live action adaptation.

As fans continue campaigning to see the Stranger Things star don the mask, McLaughlin makes one final, gracious bid before showing his love and support for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The fan casting of Caleb McLaughlin dates all the way back to 2018, and since then, the actor has also expressed interest in playing Miles Morales in a live-action adaptation. In a recent interview with Variety, the actor did not hide his interest and admiration for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. When asked about the reason behind his interest, McLaughlin had a heartwarming response.

“I think Miles represents something bigger than myself; it represents something bigger than most people,” he said. “Also, being from New York and then just seeing the Spider-Verse” story, I just feel it’s really, really connected, and I feel like a lot of people understand what that means.”

And now that McLaughlin has wrapped up his time as Lucas Sinclair with the end of the Stranger Things series, the speculations are higher than ever, as per Variety. Several fans have pointed out that the Stranger Things actor bears a strong resemblance to the character, Miles Morales, created by artist Sara Pichelli. Moreover, both Morales and McLaughlin grew up in New York upbringings, making the actor a natural fit for the role.
