Walter White will be knocking on the theaters for a one-day anniversary celebration of Breaking Bad. From a High School chemistry teacher to a meth cook, Bryan Cranston’s performance as Walter White convinced everyone that he was the ultimate threat in his everyday regular optical frames and tighty-whities. Perhaps it was the combination of his performance and Vince Gilligan’s writing that made the show the best television has to offer.

Now, after 18 years since its debut, Breaking Bad is coming to the theaters for an anniversary-only celebration with the fans.

September 7, which is popularly known as Breaking Bad Day to commemorate the airing of its first episode in 2008, is chosen as the day to bring back the magic of the show once more, but this time on the big screen. Alamo Drafthouse will commemorate the 18th Breaking Bad Day with interactive theatrical screenings of the show's season 4 finale, Face Off, according to an exclusive announcement from Collider.

Alamo Drafthouse has planned a whole extravaganza to make this an unforgettable celebration of the beloved show. First off, if one buys a $10 USD food and drink voucher, which can be used and refunded at the event, they can enjoy the show completely free. Viewers will receive a crawlspace filled with Breaking Bad memorabilia, such as a Gus Fring half-face mask, a call bell, blue rock candy, and a Heisenberg cap.

There will be a live host in a yellow cleansuit who will instruct guests to ring their bells whenever Hector does so on screen. They will also serve as the emcee for the costume competition. From this exclusive announcement via Collider, it sounds like quite the way to spend the day, watching one’s favorite show with the whole community watching experience enhanced for maximum satisfaction.

But why choose the season 4 finale and not the pilot of the show to honor the series on its anniversary?

The significance of the Breaking Bad episode

The iconic Breaking Bad season 4 finale, Face Off, brings the explosive collision course between chemistry teacher-turned-meth kingpin Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and fast-food mogul/d*** lord Gus Fring, played by Giancarlo Esposito, to its absolute boiling point. With hostilities mounting ever since Walt orchestrated the elimination of Fring's handpicked successor, the desperate protagonist finds himself backed into a corner with his life on the line. His only lifeline? Forging an uneasy alliance with Fring's incapacitated former cartel enemy, Hector Salamanca.
