Bradley Cooper Beats Leonardo DiCaprio for Oscar 2024 Nod for ‘Maestro’

In the last year, fans have been losing their minds with the constant snubs for Bradley Cooper’s latest film, Maestro. After being snubbed by the Golden Globes and even the Critics Choice Awards, it looks like the actor might finally be getting recognized for his work. Ahead of the 2024 Oscars, the biographical managed to help the star beat out Killers of the Flower Moon’s Leonardo DiCaprio in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category.

At the last awards show, Cooper and his film, Maestro ended up missing out on the Golden Globe for Best Drama Motion Picture after being nominated. The movie has been nominated once again, renewing hopes of a prestigious award. The actor will be facing off against Cillian Murphy, Paul Giamatti, and Jeffrey Wright in the Oscar 2024 nomination.

While the world has been fixated on watching Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, the Cooper flick managed to slip radars because of the backlash surrounding the film. With the latest nomination, the actor has taken his previous count of nine Academy Award nominations to 10. Although his performance in the Leonard Bernstein biopic is screaming for an Oscar, there is a chance Murphy and his historical film could sweep it out from under him.

An hour ago, the answers to the Barbenheimer debate were finally revealed. 2 months ahead of the Oscar awards, the board chose to announce the nominees for the year. While all eyes were on Greta Gerwig’s Barbie to make a redemption comeback, that unfortunately did not happen. Instead, the Christopher Nolan flick ended up bagging not one or two nominations but 13.

From Best Actress to Best Direction and Best Picture, the film ended up covering various categories; Emily Blunt for Actress in a Supporting Role, Janty Yates and Dave Crossman for Costume Design. The film was even nominated for Best Original Score.
