Robert Pattinson has been keeping fans busy with back-to-back blockbuster roles, but he is proving there is more to him than the dark, brooding vigilante. Between stepping into the intense world of The Drama and gearing up for another ride in The Batman Part II, the actor seems determined to shake up expectations in every project he touches.
Between his recent detours into more eccentric roles and a press tour sprinkled with just enough mischief, Pattinson appears determined to remind audiences that he is not, in fact, carved permanently out of gloom.
Fans of Gotham, ever fond of their darkness, may wish to steady themselves. Their caped sentinel, it seems, is contemplating a personality.

Gotham gets a fresh spin: What Robert Pattinson teases for The Batman Part II
On the red carpet for the A24 film, The Drama in which he stars opposite Zendaya, Robert Pattinson gave fans a glimpse of what’s in store for The Batman Part II.
“The script is extraordinary,” Robert Pattinson told Deadline.
He further teased the upcoming sequel to the 2022 DC Studios hit, noting the creative surprises it holds.
“It’s going to be interesting seeing it come out. It’s taking some big swings,” Robert Pattinson added, signaling that Gotham might look very different from the first installment.
The excitement is not limited to Robert Pattinson’s comments. Colin Farrell, who reprises his role as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot (aka The Penguin), also praised Matt Reeves’ vision.
" I really do think it’s a masterwork. Kind of a contemporary genre masterwork,” Farrell said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
With both Robert Pattinson and Colin Farrell hyping up the script, sky's the limit for the upcoming instalment of Batman and even the actor set to reprise the Caped Crusader avatar.
Gotham is not the only place where Robert Pattinson is stepping into a darker, more intense role this year.
Robert Pattinson embraces a villainous role in Dune: Part Three
While Gotham fans await The Batman Part II, Robert Pattinson is also preparing to dive into a much darker role in Dune: Part Three. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the film continues the epic saga adapted from Frank Herbert’s novels, with Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Jason Momoa all returning. Pattinson joins the cast as Scytale, a key antagonist from Dune: Messiah.
Speaking at an event attended by ComicBook ahead of the Dune: Part Three trailer, Robert Pattinson credited Zendaya for helping him land the role. He explained that he had been talking to her on the set of The Drama about how to get involved in the Dune universe. A few months later, he received an unexpected call offering him the part, which he acknowledged may have been influenced by Zendaya’s support.

Scytale, a Tleilaxu Face Dancer, is known for the ability to shape-shift, making him a particularly dangerous adversary for Paul Atreides. Robert Pattinson described the character as extremely fun to play, noting that the visual design and overall look for Scytale are quite extraordinary, aligning well with his history of portraying intense and unconventional characters.
With Dune: Part Three set for release on December 18, 2026, and The Batman Part II starting filming this spring for an October 1, 2027, release, Robert Pattinson is clearly on a trajectory that blends blockbuster action with challenging, boundary-pushing roles. The Drama, which Robert Pattinson stars in alongside Zendaya and an amazing ensemble, is set to release on April 3, 2026, giving fans another chance to see his range before the sci-fi and superhero projects hit theaters.
