It is safe to say that Robert Pattinson successfully brought an intense edge to the Dark Knight, flying across Gotham City in his hunt for killers. The winged eyeliner deserves a nod of its own. After The Batman won over both critics and audiences, fans have been eagerly counting the days for its sequel.

As Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II picks up steam, buzz around the film’s cast has only grown louder. Several names have been thrown into the conversation. While some familiar faces are expected to return for the second film, there are also exciting new additions being discussed.

Who’s joining the cast of The Batman Part II?

Brad Pitt had long been rumored to join the cast in a villain role. However, The Hollywood Reporter recently claimed that the actor will not be part of the movie. But there is a positive update.

The crew is reportedly in talks with Scarlett Johansson to join the team, as per Variety. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, and details about the role she is being considered for also remain under wraps.

"Details on who Johansson would potentially portray are being kept under wraps, but the role may be a new love interest to Bruce Wayne,” Nexus Point News reported.

As for the returning cast, Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman reportedly will not be returning for the second installment. Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as the Caped Crusader. As per sources (IMDB), he will be joined by Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth), Colin Farrell (Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin), and Jeffrey Wright (James Gordon).

Since the release of the first movie, fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel. While the filming of The Batman Part II was delayed, there is finally some hope for the highly anticipated sequel.

The Batman: Part II moves closer as filming is planned for next spring

Matt Reeves’ gritty take on the Dark Knight starring Robert Pattinson, released in March 2022, was a major success, raking in $772 million worldwide. Amid the rumors around Brad Pitt and other A-list stars, the sequel had left fans waiting longer than expected.

Warner Bros. initially set the sequel for an October 2026 release, only to push it back a full year to October 1, 2027. The delay sparked plenty of debate on social media, but the studio has now offered some clarity.

The Batman Part II is officially scheduled to begin filming in spring 2026. Earlier this year, on June 27, yet another positive update was shared with Variety, confirming that Reeves had finally completed the script. 

The wait has been long, and fans are eager to see if it will be worth it when the movie is finally released.
