Recalling Hugh Jackman's shoutout to Prince Harry and Winfrey's Apple TV show in the wake of Ryan Reynolds' candid discussion on mental health

Back When Hugh Jackman Gave a Special Shoutout to Prince Harry’s Apple TV Show Following Ryan Reynolds’ Opening Up About Mental Health

In May, which marks Mental Health Awareness Month, Hugh Jackman passionately
championed the cause in 2021. Such efforts from luminaries like Oprah Winfrey
and Prince Harry [https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/prince-harry/] are truly
commendable. The Me You Can’t See was a documentary series jointly curated by
Winfrey and Prince Harry. Particularly, in the wake of the post-pandemic era,
when mental health struggles intensified, this Apple TV series acted as a
much-needed sanctuary for combating inner demons.

Jackman went the extra mile to give a heartfelt shout-out to this documentary
series. In the grand scheme of things, he also tipped his hat to his Deadpool
friend, Ryan Reynolds, [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/ryan-reynolds/] for
bravely baring his soul about his struggles with anxiety.

PRINCE HARRY AND RYAN REYNOLDS RECEIVED JACKMAN’S SALUTE

As the world grappled with the aftermath of the pandemic, and the shadows of
depression and mental health issues loomed large, celebrities united to support
one another. In this spirit, the documentary series The Me You Can’t See
featured star-studded guests like Lady Gaga and Zak Williams, who fearlessly
laid bare their inner struggles on the show. This act of courage was truly
commendable, and Jackman gave it a heartfelt tip of the hat. Moreover, he lauded
Reynolds with the words, “I couldn’t be more proud and inspired by your
honesty.”

In that very same month, Reynolds laid bare his struggles with anxiety in an
Instagram post. Furthermore, he once even shared that his humor has helped him
battle it.

Jackman, deeply moved by Reynolds’ raw revelation, chimed in, affirming that
this act would be a guiding light for others battling anxiety. He declared that
the stigma surrounding mental health should be put to rest once and for all. The
show provided a platform for Winfrey’s experiences with anger and assault, and
Lady Gaga’s battles with PTSD.

The Duke of Sussex has already bared his soul in his memoir Spare. But, back in
2021, he made significant revelations in the series as well.

THE ME YOU CAN’T SEE WHERE THE DUKE BARED IT ALL

The Duke of Sussex back in 2021, reflecting on his memories of Princess Diana,
shared with Oprah Winfrey a haunting recollection of being in a car with his
brother and mother, relentlessly pursued by paparazzi on mopeds while she wept
uncontrollably. This vivid memory left him feeling powerless. He also opened up
about how the weight of royal obligations took a toll on his mental health,
leading him to seek therapy.

He candidly revealed his struggles with anxiety, drinking, and drugs. The Duke
admitted to regrets about not addressing Meghan Markle
[https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/meghan-markle]‘s confession about her suicidal
thoughts and detailed plans to end her life, as their royal duties immediately
pulled them into a public event, leaving no time to process the situation.
