Few things can match the thrill of watching Earth’s mightiest heroes unite, except perhaps watching Doctor Doom bring the multiverse to its knees. Beyond Doom’s terrifying rise and the collisions threatening alternate timelines, one of the biggest draws of Avengers: Doomsday is its sheer scale. With over 60 Marvel characters expected to appear, this is one superhero gathering that makes saving the world look like a team-building exercise.

Naturally, Marvel knows that a lineup this massive deserves a grand introduction. The studio recently unveiled a promotional poster featuring some of the blockbuster’s biggest names caught in the thick of an apocalyptic battle. From familiar Avengers to heroes crossing over from other corners of the Marvel universe, the artwork promises a collision of epic proportions. Unfortunately, the internet is not quite ready to assemble in celebration.

The newly released Korean and international battle poster offers plenty to unpack, with a multiversal Incursion threatening to tear reality apart in the background. Two planets appear to be hurtling towards each other, while the wreckage of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters hints at the catastrophic fate awaiting the X-Men universe. The stakes are certainly sky-high, but apparently, so are the expectations for a poster featuring this many legends.

There are also some intriguing details for eagle-eyed fans, , as seen the internet's reaction to DiscussingFilm's post on X, from Thor wielding Stormbreaker amid yellow lightning to Steve Rogers appearing with Mjolnir once again. Sam Wilson, Shuri, Sue Storm, Yelena Belova, Cyclops, Charles Xavier, Gambit, Loki, and Bucky Barnes round out the battle-ready ensemble. Yet, despite all that star power and multiversal mayhem, fans believe the artwork has overlooked one crucial ingredient: the heroes’ signature charisma and aura.

But while the poster teases multiversal mayhem and an unprecedented superhero showdown, for the Doom that Anthony Mackie has teased, the internet has been busy roasting its awkward poses, questionable aura, and some rather curious creative choices.

The internet assembles to roast Avengers: Doomsday

While the multiverse may be on the brink of destruction in Avengers: Doomsday, the internet seems more concerned with the poster’s apparent shortage of aura. Fans have been roasting the artwork for making some of Marvel’s most charismatic heroes look awkward, with the supposedly epic ensemble failing to capture the swagger expected from Earth’s mightiest. The reactions have been wonderfully merciless.

"This is the most auraless photo have ever seen in my entire life," one said.

"Cyclops only one with aura here," another added.

"Bruh Steve just looks like some guy with a hammer," a user said.

"These foreign posters have no aura," another user said.

"Official? Thors got yellow lightning now?" a user asked.

"Thor gets yellow lightning confirmed?" another repeated the same doubt.

Beyond the missing charisma, the poster has sparked another discussion, with Thor’s distinctly yellow lightning drawing attention instead of the familiar blue associated with the God of Thunder and Stormbreaker. Meanwhile, fans are wondering where some of their other favorites are, particularly the Spider-Men, whose absence has not gone unnoticed. With Doctor Doom threatening the multiverse and dozens of heroes assembling for the showdown, Marvel may have nailed the scale of Avengers: Doomsday, but its poster still has some serious aura to reclaim.
