‘Avengers: Doomsday’- Marvel Has the Chance to Pull a Ryan Reynolds or Henry Cavill With Ghost Rider, but Will They?

The MCU is a brain freeze when it comes to updates—equal parts mind-bending and maddening. No matter how much fans rant, rave, or rearrange their multiversal vision boards, Marvel sticks to its cosmic script, orbiting in its own gravitational groove. After flinging a curveball the size of Ego’s planet with the push back of the Avengers films, the cosmic cosmos has been crackling with whispers from the underworld, with Ghost Riders casting calls burning through fan forums like hellfire. Now, with the multiversal gates swinging open like a Doctor Strange fever dream, Marvel Studios is staring down a supernova-sized opportunity to pull a Ryan Reynolds or Henry Cavill card in Doomsday.
The stars are aligned, but the question is: will Marvel make the marvel-ous move?

Following the upsetting updates of the cosmic world, Jeff Sneider recently highlighted the ongoing Ghost Rider casting calls for Avengers: Doomsday. With Ghost Rider’s reported comeback on the big screen, Doomsday will mark his first appearance 13 years after the Spirit of Vengeance (2012). Though the casting speculations are spreading like wildfire, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has the ultimate opportunity to replay the stack of cards used for Ryan Reynolds, giving Ryan Gosling his Marvel dream role.

Gosling has time and again opened up about his cosmic aspirations of donning the suit of this comic book character. Previously, Daniel Richtman revealed in January that Marvel Studios was indeed considering the Barbie actor for Ghost Rider. Considering Reynolds’ dream role was Deadpool, the Marvel agent of chaos, and the MCU gave him what he wanted, Marvel Studios has the ultimate opportunity to play the comic gods with Gosling as Ghost Rider.
As for Henry Cavill? The Marvel Cinematic Universe answered fan prayers with its Deadpool & Wolverine cameo. Since fan sentiment is ultimately crucial for the prevalence of any cosmic force, they could Cavill-ify the Ghost Rider's arrival.
The MCU can do a fan service with Ghost Rider with a page from the Henry Cavill act
Since Henry Cavill hung the cape of Superman and left the DCU throne to David Corenswet, fans sought cosmic vengeance, cashing in on the longtime comic rivalry of Marvel and DC Comics. Cavill’s Cavillrine cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine had the world gasping at the MCU’s audaciousness. It was fan service of the highest form. Plus, Marvel did it before with John Krasinski’s cameo as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Ryan Gosling has talked about his desire to play Ghost Rider in the MCU, and with Avengers: Doomsday opening the floodgates of possibilities, Marvel can target two birds with one stone, giving fans and the actor what they want. For the longest time, fans have made it loud and clear that Gosling would be a cosmic comic fit for the role. Given Marvel Studios has done it before, they might just do it again because this time, not only does Gosling’s potential casting hit the bullseye, but also makes a case for Marvel’s box office appeal.
