Disney’s 2026 has been a rather handsome year at the box office, with Walt Disney Studios sailing past $4 billion globally. Pixar’s Toy Story 5 has brought in more than $1.095 billion, while The Devil Wears Prada 2 has collected nearly $692 million. With Zootopia 2 and Avatar: Fire and Ash adding momentum, Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro has made clear that he sees the company’s intellectual property as one of its greatest advantages.

It is quite the claim, although D’Amaro has a remarkably well-stocked trophy cabinet to make the argument look rather convincing.

The Walt Disney Company CEO Josh D’Amaro shared his view of the entertainment landscape on August 16, 2026, during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Speaking with actress Ginnifer Goodwin on Day 3, D’Amaro outlined his “One Disney” vision for the company. His remarks centered on the power of bringing Disney’s businesses together as one.

“We have the best IP in the world,” D’Amaro said, pointing to Disney’s formidable collection of intellectual property as a crucial advantage. He also highlighted the company’s broad portfolio of businesses, global scale, and talent, arguing that competitors may try to assemble similar pieces. Disney, however, already has those pieces under one roof.

D’Amaro believes that unity is ultimately what makes Disney difficult to rival. Whether the company appears through Disney+, a theme park, or D23, he sees each experience as part of the same larger ecosystem. His “One Disney” approach is designed to turn that breadth into a competitive advantage, making the entertainment giant greater than its individual parts.

With all the exciting movies and shows coming to Disney, audiences can also look forward to seeing Josh D’Amaro’s “One Disney” plan take shape across the company.

What is One Disney about?

“One Disney” is Josh D’Amaro’s attempt to make the Mouse House feel less like a collection of rooms and more like one very large home. The strategy brings Disney’s entertainment, streaming, parks, sports, and consumer businesses closer together, with intellectual property serving as the connective tissue. Each division can therefore help another become more valuable.

The plan also gives Disney+ ambitions beyond simply keeping viewers occupied on the sofa, with gaming and shopping becoming part of its digital ecosystem. Streaming can introduce audiences worldwide to stories that later lead them toward parks, cruises, and other experiences, while tighter operations help redirect spending toward priority investments. It is a sweeping effort to make Disney’s many parts function as one formidable whole.
