During his expansive career spanning almost six decades, Arnold Schwarzenegger has only one Christmas movie in his repertoire, called Jingle All the Way, which came out in 1996 and was a modest box-office success with not-so-great critical reviews. This might be the reason why Schwarzenegger decided to steer clear of the genre all these years. But that might change now, if the fans' reactions have been anything to go by.

Prime Video just released the first trailer for The Man With The Bag, transforming the iconic action star into a very giddy and exuberant reimagining of Santa Claus. Schwarzenegger’s Santa will team up with Alan Ritchson’s petty criminal to bring back his iconic red bag, stolen by a rogue elf with a grudge, played by Awkwafina, to save Christmas.

The Man with the Bag is a holiday heist adventure about second chances, surprising friendships, and realizing that sometimes even Santa needs a little help delivering Christmas. It is full of heart, humor, and seasonal enchantment. The movie's principal cast also features Liza Koshy, Ken Jeong, Berkeley James, Michael Cyril Creighton, Kyle Mooney, and Jane Krakowski.

The trailer, showcasing a mix of comedy, action, and the Chrismassy vibe, generated a ubiquitous sense of enthusiasm at the return of the Terminator star to the Christmas genre after 30 long years. The internet did not shy away from showing its excitement for the project directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray) and penned by Allan Rice (Stuck in the Middle).

The varied reactions to the trailer for Prime Video’s The Man With The Bag have been creating a growing buzz for the movie.

Fans spared no time engaging with the trailer for The Man With The Bag on social media, raving about the bold choice to cast Arnold Schwarzenegger as Santa Claus in a Christmas movie after such a long time. Some were also completely stoked about the festive vibes of the movie, making for a perfect Christmas watch.

“Excited to see Arnold Schwarzenegger again on screen,” expressed a fan.

“If Arnold doesn’t say 'I’ll be sack' when he goes to look for his stolen presents, what are we even doing here?” said one user.

“PEAK!” exclaimed another.

However, there were also some who were either shocked or were not completely sold on Schwarzenegger’s casting as Santa.

No matter the criticism, the overall reactions to the trailer were positive, with the masses really excited to see what Arnold Schwarzenegger’s latest Christmas outing after three decades has to offer this time. The Man With The Bag is set for a worldwide premiere on Prime Video on December 2, 2026.
