like a robot” and keeps his distance so that the actors feel intimidated.



This helped them maintain their behavior and subconsciously channel the right
emotions during filming. His mantra for getting the best out of all the actors
was to make sure everyone remained emotionally uninvolved. He was “worried” that
they would look at him while filming and have no fear required, as per the
script.
