Before becoming a Hollywood superstar, Arnold Schwarzenegger received career advice from Mark Hamill that could have dramatically altered his path, but he chose not to follow it and went on to become one of the most successful stars in entertainment history. Years later, the story resurfaced through a humorous anecdote that highlighted just how unpredictable the road to fame can be.

What makes the story even more fascinating is the person who offered that advice. During a recent podcast appearance, comedian Bert Kreischer shared a memorable anecdote involving Schwarzenegger and Star Wars icon Mark Hamill, one that proved how unpredictable Hollywood success can be.

According to Bert Kreischer on an episode of 2 Bears 1 Cave, Arnold Schwarzenegger once told him about a conversation he had with Mark Hamill early in his career. At the time, Schwarzenegger was trying to break into acting and sought advice from the future Luke Skywalker star. Recalling the story, Kreischer said Hamill's guidance was straightforward:

"Lose the accent, get an American accent and you gotta lose the last name." The comedian explained that Schwarzenegger had approached Hamill for career advice, only to be told that his Austrian accent and lengthy surname would make it difficult to succeed in Hollywood.

As history would later prove, Schwarzenegger ignored both suggestions and went on to become one of the most recognizable stars in the world. Kreischer also noted that Schwarzenegger still remembers the advice today and has jokingly reflected on it over the years.
