Anne Hathaway has turned 2026 into a rather spectacular case of Hollywood showing up to work and refusing to leave. The actress has headlined a five-film slate, powered The Odyssey past $1.1 billion worldwide, and helped The Devil Wears Prada 2 reach nearly $691.4 million. Hathaway even commands the year’s two biggest live-action opening weekends.
With such a successful year already in the bag, the only sensible question is what Anne Hathaway has coming next.
1. The End of Oak Street

Anne Hathaway has spent 2026 collecting reasons to keep moviegoers interested, and The End of Oak Street has just provided another particularly monstrous one. The sci-fi survival horror film held its world premiere on August 9, making it the latest Hathaway project to emerge from the curtain. The theatrical and IMAX release follows on August 14, 2026.
David Robert Mitchell, the filmmaker behind It Follows, has apparently decided that suburbia was not sufficiently terrifying on its own. His answer involves a cosmic event, a perfectly recognizable 1980s neighborhood, and a sudden relocation to a prehistoric wilderness populated by dinosaurs. What begins as domestic normality consequently develops into an unusually aggressive family vacation.

At the center is Denise Platt, played by Hathaway, whose respectable suburban-mother appearance conceals a woman perfectly capable of becoming blood-splattered and ferocious when her children are threatened. Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery complete the Platt family, while J.J. Abrams and David Robert Mitchell help deliver a creature adventure with enough Amblin nostalgia to make the dinosaurs feel almost impolite.
2. Verity
Anne Hathaway’s 2026 streak is not finished yet, and, as seen from the trailers, Verity looks ready to trade dinosaurs for something considerably more psychologically poisonous. Releasing theatrically on October 2, 2026, the psychological erotic thriller casts Hathaway as Verity Crawford, an enigmatic bestselling author whose incapacitation leaves behind a manuscript far more dangerous than any unfinished novel.

Directed by Michael Showalter and adapted by Nick Antosca from Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, Verity follows a struggling writer, played by Dakota Johnson, who is hired to complete Crawford’s remaining books. At the family’s remote estate, she discovers a disturbing autobiographical manuscript filled with twisted confessions about Verity’s past, drawing her into a dangerous maze of manipulation and obsession alongside Josh Hartnett.
3. The Princess Diaries 3
For The Princess Diaries 3, the crown is officially waiting for Anne Hathaway to return as Queen Mia Thermopolis, but Genovia may have to remain patient a little longer. The Disney sequel is actively being developed with Adele Lim directing and Flora Greeson writing, while Hathaway is also producing and has teased a recent story breakthrough. With Hathaway expecting a child, the production timeline remains flexible, giving the actress room to balance motherhood with the considerable task of making Mia’s long-awaited return worth the wait.
4. Fear Street
Anne Hathaway’s 2027 calendar is already developing a rather alarming habit of putting her in dangerous situations, and Fear Not may be the most unsettling yet. Expected to arrive on Paramount+ in 2027, the six-part limited series stars Hathaway as Margy Palm, a devout Texas mother, with the Oscar winner also taking an executive producer role.

Bash Doran created the true-crime drama from Julie Miller’s 2023 Vanity Fair investigation into Palm’s kidnapping by prolific serial killer Stephen Morin, who was suspected in more than 30 murders. Yet Fear Not is less interested in a conventional captive narrative than the astonishing psychological battle that follows, as Palm relies on faith, patience, and prayer to de-escalate Morin and eventually find her way out.
5. Alone at Dawn
Anne Hathaway is taking her 2026 career run from dinosaurs and psychological thrillers straight into the battlefield with Alone at Dawn. The Amazon MGM Studios military drama is targeting a late 2026 or early 2027 theatrical release, with Hathaway sharing the screen with Adam Driver and Betty Gilpin under the direction of Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ron Howard.

Adapted from Dan Schilling and Lori Chapman Longfritz’s bestselling book, the film tells the harrowing story of United States Air Force Combat Controller John A. Chapman, played by Driver, during the 2002 Battle of Takur Ghar. Mortally wounded and abandoned behind enemy lines, Chapman fought alone to shield an approaching rescue team, while a painstaking military investigation years later established the full extent of his sacrifice. With Alone at Dawn, Hathaway’s increasingly eclectic slate proves that her 2026-to-2027 run is showing very little interest in staying predictable.
