Anne Hathaway has been the flood that has taken over timelines, billboards, and theatres. One look at the star's Instagram bio and the level of busy she is becomes tremendously clear. Hathaway has gone from starring in The End of Oak Street to Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and then reprising her role in the sequel to the cult classic The Devil Wears Prada to becoming a pop star in Mother Mary, all the while awaiting the release of Verity and Alone at Dawn.

One would think the actress would give anything to get that possible Oscar. But would she?

Apparently, the rival of her affections can be found in a large and loud arena wearing orange and blue.

Anne Hathaway weighs the Knicks against a second Oscar

In a world brewing with tensions, who would you expect to ask the right questions to the right people? Apparently, the answer lies in Jimmy Fallon and Anne Hathaway, where the former sat the latter for a round of Best Thing Ever on her recent appearance at The Tonight Show. Fallon asked Anne Hathaway what she would pick between a second Oscar and a championship for her all-time favorite team, the New York Knicks, and lo and behold, the actress chose a Knicks win over an Oscar.

"I’m actually, like, the way my nervous system is reacting to that choice is really intense,” Hathaway explains.

While the actress did hesitate and contemplate her choice in the segment, with a signed Knicks jersey in her hand and the team in her heart, she chose their victory over a second Oscar. It was only a game, of course, but she is also a frontrunner for Best Supporting Actress and, by popular decree, the team's lucky charm, so this was no idle flirtation.

When weighed against a second Oscar, Anne Hathaway's decision does come as a surprise, but for her fans, it is not so much.

Anne Hathaway's special relationship with the Knicks

It is clear from her choice that Anne Hathaway really loves the Knicks. But the fact that the actress was recently declared a lucky charm for the team is not a well-known tale. Following the team's loss of Game 2 against the Atlanta Hawks, Anne Hathaway's The Devil Wears Prada 2 dropped in a scene she chats with Karl-Anthony Towns. Surprisingly, following this drop, the Knicks did not lose another game for a historic 13 straight.

While this hypothetical connection may or may not be true, that Anne Hathaway loves the Knicks and the Knick love her back is clear as day.

The actress even received a basket of goodies for her baby from the team with a card signed by OG Anunoby. With a signed jersey, a message, and a basket, the scale remains tipped towards the Knicks. Perhaps the Oscar will need to learn to play defence in order to get picked by Anne Hathaway.
