Angry Birds are trading flying tempers for parenting tantrums, with The Angry Birds Movie 3 swooping into theaters on December 23. It is a delightfully unexpected twist for a franchise built on airborne chaos. The previous film united the feuding birds and green pigs against a dangerous new enemy. Now, the biggest challenge appears to be raising the next generation instead of surviving another island crisis.

As fresh hatchlings arrive on Bird Island, the story circles back to the franchise's roots, where the eggs become the center of their anger.

The feathers are flying in an entirely different direction this time. According to Paramount Pictures, The Angry Birds Movie 3 arrives in theaters worldwide on January 29, 2027, with family life replacing island-saving heroics. The franchise has spent years launching birds through the sky. Now, it is preparing to launch its grumpiest hero into parenthood.

Instead of another globe-spanning showdown, the spotlight lands squarely inside Red and Silver's home. Married life has brought three energetic youngsters into the nest: Glider, June, and baby Olly. Every child brings a new surprise, making breakfast, bedtime, and babysitting feel far more dangerous than dodging green pigs ever did.

The familiar flock is joined by plenty of fresh faces. Jason Sudeikis returns as Red alongside Josh Gad as Chuck, while Walker Scobell, Emma Myers, and newcomer baby Olly voice Red and Silver's growing family. Internet stars MrBeast and Salish Matter also join the adventure, giving the sequel an unexpected modern twist.

Even though the film is one of the video game adaptations that raked in millions, it will be facing tough competition that time in December.

The Angry Birds Movie 3 faces a crowded release window

December is usually the season of festive cheer, but the box office is preparing for an all-out spectacle. The Angry Birds Movie 3 flies into theaters just five days after Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three. That release corridor is stacked with two of the year's biggest franchise events. Finding room to soar will not be easy.

Marvel Studios brings Earth's Mightiest Heroes, while Denis Villeneuve returns audiences to Arrakis with another epic chapter. Those cinematic giants are expected to dominate premium screens and action-hungry crowds. That leaves the animated sequel chasing a very different audience, one built around families, children, and nostalgic fans of the original mobile game.

That family-first strategy could become the sequel's greatest strength during the holiday rush, especially for moviegoers looking beyond superheroes and sandworms. Still, the competition will be relentless from opening weekend onward. The birds may not spend this adventure battling pigs, but they certainly will have plenty of blockbuster rivals to outfly.
