What is Andrew Garfield’s The Uprising?
Andrew Garfield’s The Uprising is based on the 1381 English Peasants’ Revolt, which inspired the legend of Robin Hood. The film reportedly follows Wat Tyler, a farmer who finally raises his voice against the unjust system imposed on ordinary people and leads a rebellion. In the trailer, Tyler is seen confronting a tax collector and questioning how much money he has made by collecting taxes from poor farmers.

The question quickly escalates the tension when the collector responds, “You pay your taxes, or you lose your hand.” However, his angry remark is met with more fury from Tyler. Tyler then sweeps everything off the collector’s table and takes a stand against the injustice.
While Garfield has been a spectacular Spider-Man, the trailer hints at the actor showing a promising and gritty take on Robin Hood.
