Hollywood’s definition of positivity and fitness combined is single-handedly carried forward by the Austrian Oak, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Following his 76th birthday, the Commando actor is promoting “fitness for all” more than ever. Not only has the Mr. Olympia winner won bodybuilding championships, but he has been a stalwart in action movies. From his Terminator to the most recent FUBAR, action-thrillers and the Austrian Oak go hand-in-hand.

Amidst the quest for remakes, a director landed at one of Schwarzenegger’s movies.

While it is not surprising Stephen King was approached by a filmmaker for one of his classics, The Running Man, it is a mammoth responsibility that the filmmaker took. As per Deadline, Edgar Wright has been working on a movie based on King’s dystopian thriller novel. The reason it is hard to execute is Schwarzenegger’s 1987 movie. The Predator actor had starred in the movie about a deadly game show that was filled with sci-fi and hunts. What is interesting is King’s suggestion of turning it into a Squid Game-like movie.

While taking up an existing movie and giving it a remake is tough, the one thing that is clear is the trajectory it will take. No matter the previous 1987 version, the upcoming The Running Man might follow the famous Korean game show filled with dark twists and turns. The perfect addition of a bit of comedy, poverty, and common man dilemma is perfect to fit Wright’s style of filmmaking.

Stephen King’s classic turned out to be a turning corner in the Terminator actor’s life. His success with movies like Conan the Barbarian and Hercules in New York was not as commercially rewarding as the movies that started coming in during the 1990s. This novel-based movie turned out to be the end of an era of plain action movies laced with cheesiness.

While his Total Recall and The Terminator established his firm position, movies like The Running Man did not miss out on the classic Schwarzenegger charm. The yellow jumpsuits and how the movie took its course would be very futile to imitate. Only Schwarzenegger can do what he does, as he is one of the best in the genre.
