Amy Adams Reveals 'Star Wars' Role Is a Dream Come True for Her

Amy Adams landed her dream gig with her role in Star Wars. For nearly five decades, the galaxy far, far away has inspired generations of fans and remained one of the most influential franchises in the entertainment world. And both fans and celebrities alike are fond of this mythic world, its characters, and their battles. Now, more than 7 years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, another Star Wars movie is expected to arrive soon.

And Adams, who stars in the movie, can barely contain her excitement while speaking of the project.

Amy Adams recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a conversation. When asked about the rumors of her joining the Star Wars movie, she excitedly agreed. While she admitted that she could not reveal any details about her character, the actress called the opportunity a dream job.

“Oh It is a total dream come true. I love Star wars,” she told Jimmy Fallon.

“I was like a huge fan. I was like, totally obsessed, had all the toys. I had the dolls, I had the Princess Leia doll. I still have, they re-released the Princess Leia doll, and I bought like six of them to give out to my friends and stuff,” she further spoke about her love for the Star Wars universe.

She opened up about her admiration for the entire Star Wars universe, including its creative vision and the talented people who have helped shape the franchise over the years. It was back in August 2025 that the actress was announced as part of the cast of the upcoming film Star Wars: Starfighter, alongside Ryan Gosling, Aaron Pierre, Flynn Gray, Simon Bird, and Jamael Westman. Clearly, there is much to expect from the next movie, which is expected to arrive in 2027.

But before Star Wars, the actress also appears in the psychological thriller film, Cape Fear.

What is Amy Adams’ Cape Fear about?

Amy Adams is set to star as defense attorney Anna Bowden in the Apple TV+ series Cape Fear. She is joined by Javier Bardem as the infamous fictional antagonist Max Cady, while Patrick Wilson plays Bowden’s husband, Tom Bowden. Cape Fear is a psychological thriller series based on the novel The Executioners by John D. MacDonald and its film adaptations released in 1962 and 1991.

While the 1962 version was titled The Executioners, the 1991 adaptation directed by Martin Scorsese was named Cape Fear, the same title used for the new series. Both Scorsese and Steven Spielberg serve as executive producers on the show. The 10-episode series starring Adams and is available to stream on Apple TV+.
