Amy Adams detailed the terrifying real-life ordeal during an appearance on the SmartLess podcast. While exiting a restaurant in Santa Monica with her family, frantic screams alerted the group to a nearby s******* victim. She immediately directed her husband to protect their daughter before running directly toward the danger alongside her father.

“I was like, Darren, you stay here with our daughter. We ran over, and he'd been s****** in the neck,” she said. The father and daughter duo discovered a man bleeding heavily from a severe neck wound. Utilizing clean beach towels that they fortunately had on hand, they immediately applied direct pressure to the critical injury. The Hollywood star focused entirely.

“I'm sitting there somehow going, ‘You need to calm your pulse rate. Take a deep breath in.’ I literally was just so focused,” she said during the SmartLess podcast. The traumatic event concluded with a heartwarming twist a year later at a separate dining establishment.

“And then I ran into him a year later. A guy walks up to me in the restaurant. He's like, ‘I heard a story that you and your dad were on the scene of a guy getting stabbed,” she narrated on the SmartLess podcast. He introduced his young son and expressed profound gratitude to the star for preserving his life.

She had prepared extensively for her role in the short-lived 2004 television drama Dr. Vegas. For the project, she shadowed an active emergency room doctor who taught her how to maintain absolute focus.
