Alan Ritchson is going through a tough time in his 20-year marriage with his wife, Catherine Ritchson, and in the midst are their three sons - Calen, Edan, and Amory. With everyone currently busy tracking his every professional move, Ritchson blindsided them with unexpected news of his separation from his wife, Catherine, after two decades of being married to her and raising a family of five together.  

While the public gaze has swiftly shifted to his personal life, his family, especially his three sons, has also become the subject of interest. 

Alan Ritchson and Catherine were childhood sweethearts who got married in 2006 and welcomed their first son, Calem Ritchson (13), on September 19, 2012. Calem translates to “dove” in Latin, something Ritchson got tattoed on his forearm, even. Ritchson has also said that Calem's name "implies peace." Calem likes to go to the arcade, write zombie screenplays with his father, and go hiking with their family dog, Bear, according to his parents’ Instagram pages.

Edan Ritchson (12), Alan Ritchson and Catherine's second child, was born in 2013. According to a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor has a tattoo of an abstract flame in remembrance of his second-born. Edan likes to visit his father on set and play board games, just like his brothers.

On December 6, 2015, the Runner actor and Catherine welcomed Amory Tristan Ritchson (10), their third son. There are not many details about Amory present on the internet, but Ritchson did share a couple of photos from his 5th birthday in 2020. The former model honored Amory by getting a sword and shield crest tattooed in 2023.

From what one could gather from the Reacher star’s social media handles, he has a loving and happy family, which is now going through a drastic change due to the divorce. 

Alan and Catherine Ritchson met when they were teenagers, before their 20 years long marriage. They first connected at a shared ballet class, where they instantly started chatting. After a brief romance, they broke up only to rekindle their affair when Catherine went to college. From there, they have been together ever since, tying the knot in 2006. But now, they have decided to call it quits, announcing this news via a joint Instagram post on Sunday, September 13.

Alan Ritchson has been pretty active on the professional front, enjoying the positive response he got for Reacher season 4 and having a pretty decent stint with his latest film, Runner. He also has The Man with the Bag, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, lined up for this Christmas.
