Melania documentary is getting a follow-up, and the first details have begun to emerge. Few figures in modern political and cultural history command public fascination quite like Melania Trump. Throughout her time in the global spotlight - from her tenure as First Lady to her post-White House endeavors - she has cultivated an aura of absolute privacy, carefully curating every public statement and appearance. The Melania documentary tried to encapsulate this aspect of her life but failed to capture the essence of her inner workings.

Now, as early details begin to emerge regarding Amazon’s upcoming follow-up project centered on her, anticipation is mounting over what untold stories or behind-the-scenes insights might finally come to light.

Details emerge on Amazon’s Melania follow-up

More documentary footage of the First Lady is reportedly on the way to Amazon Prime for those who are waiting for a follow-up to Melania. Earlier last month, Melania Trump's longtime manager and senior advisor Marc Beckman initially revealed on Real America's Voice that a docuseries would debut this fall.

The director of the 2026 Amazon Prime movie Melania, Brett Ratner, then wrote on Instagram that he "can't wait to share with everyone around the world the next two chapters of MELANIA, THE DOCU SERIES!"

No confirmation or comment has come from Amazon on the matter, and Beckman and Ratner have not provided any details of the project either. However, Beckman did pitch the new project in his Real America's Voice announcement as a “total different experience, completely new.” The episodes will reveal a previously unseen aspect of the First Lady, he continued.

Additionally, Ratner named Melania Trump's newly established production business Muse Films and New Element Media, a venture from fellow Melania producer Fernando Sulichin, in his post, implying that members of the original Melania creative team were participating in the new project.

A deal the was not fulfilled in its entirety

At least two episodes of supplementary footage were part of Amazon's agreement with Melania, as Marc Beckman previously told The Hollywood Reporter. These episodes were scheduled to be published on Amazon Prime alongside the feature documentary. However, those episodes were not yet featured when Melania debuted on Prime on March 9, indicating that these new episodes might be the ones (or at least include the ones) previously mentioned.

Melania only made $16.6 million at the box office despite being priced at over $75 million for Amazon. When it first debuted on the site, it did seem to be at the top of the Amazon Prime streaming charts, but its total success there has not been made public. Still, the makers are pushing for new follow-up material on the First Lady documentary.
