The title The Origin of the World has been carrying considerable intrigue ever since Brady Corbet began developing his next feature following the Oscar-winning success of The Brutalist. Envisioned as an ambitious, four-hour cinematic undertaking, the film promises to push the boundaries of conventional storytelling with an experimental approach to history, the human body, and American identity. Now, Corbet has another major name joining his increasingly impressive ensemble.

Amanda Seyfried has been cast in Brady Corbet's The Origin of the World, joining an ensemble that already features Cate Blanchett, Selena Gomez, Taylor Russell, Joe Alwyn, and Michael Fassbender. The cast also includes Lily McInerny, adding another intriguing performer to a project that continues to attract considerable attention. Interestingly, speculation surrounding her involvement had already started circulating after the actress shared Instagram Stories from Lisbon and tagged director Mona Fastvold, Corbet's partner and frequent creative collaborator.

Fans began connecting the dots, particularly given Seyfried's recent work on The Testament of Ann Lee, which Fastvold directed and co-wrote with Corbet, until, World of Reel confirmed her involvement. Corbet has previously described The Origin of the World as an experimental, elemental work concerned with the human body. The reported four-hour runtime and intended NC-17 rating further suggest that audiences should not expect a conventional Western.

The campaign also features pieces from Tiffany's archives, including a Louis Comfort Tiffany stained-glass Wisteria lamp, while a reimagining of The Wannadies' 'You & Me Song' adds a nostalgic touch. Meanwhile, Seyfried's acting calendar remains equally busy. Following The Testament of Ann Lee and The Housemaid, she has appeared in Nathan Fielder's You Can See Everything, wrapped Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical Octet, and is attached to projects including Martha & Muhammad and the Jennifer's Body sequel. She also voices Cinderella in Netflix's upcoming animated film Steps.

With Corbet's ambitious production adding another significant collaboration to her filmography, Seyfried's next chapter is shaping up to be particularly eventful.
