Showrunner Megan Gallagher acknowledged the possibility of more for All Her Fault while speaking to Collider, admitting she is certainly not opposed to exploring this universe again. When pressed about the likelihood of another season, perhaps using an anthology format, Gallagher simply responded with the encouraging yet non-committal phrase, "Wouldn't that be nice?"All Her Fault has undeniably left viewers clamouring for resolution and more mystery.
As of now, there is no update on the second season, as Megan Gallagher mentioned to Collider. The 8-episode crime drama is based on Andrea Mara's 2021 best-selling novel, centering on the affluent Chicago mother, Marissa Irvine, played by Sarah Snook. Marissa's life spirals into chaos when her five-year-old son, Milo, is kidnapped during a simple playdate. The series unfolds as an intense, high-stakes mystery with Marissa and her husband, Peter, desperately trying to locate their son while simultaneously confronting the cascade of shattering lies that begins to dismantle their marriage and lives.
The explosive finale provided answers to many complex questions but also unveiled a deeper, shocking layer of deception within the Irvine family.
The shocking climax of All Her Fault
The season finale of All Her Fault resolved the central mystery surrounding Milo's kidnapping by revealing the shocking motive of the abductor, Carrie. The narrative unveiled that Carrie, whose true identity was Josephine Murphy, was actually Milo's biological mother. This complex situation traced back nearly six years to a car accident involving Josephine, Marissa, and Peter. Marissa had believed Josephine died by suicide after losing her newborn in the wreck. The devastating truth was that Peter, operating under the mistaken belief that Josephine had died, had actually swapped his own deceased infant with Josephine's living baby. This secret had been silently poisoning the family for years.

The conclusion was fraught with violent resolutions and further deceit. The dramatic reveal led to a string of fatalities as Carrie, entering the Irvines' home armed, accidentally killed Marissa's colleague, Colin Dobbs, during a struggle for the weapon. Peter then used the gun to shoot Carrie when she threatened to expose his profound lies to Marissa. Following this, Peter confessed to the baby swap, and Marissa uncovered his other crimes, including the murder of Carrie’s father, who had demanded a ransom for Milo's return. To finally escape her toxic marriage without risking the loss of Milo, Marissa accidentally killed Peter. In a chilling final twist, Peter suffered a fatal allergic reaction to soy after kissing Marissa, who had deliberately consumed soy at Colin's funeral, knowing his severe allergy.
