Prime Video is reportedly close to ordering a new Spider-Man series based on the Clone Saga. The streamer has barely finished sweeping up after Spider-Noir, yet the next web is already being spun. Fans of the wall-crawler have had almost no time to mourn before the next project arrived. Somewhere, a writers' room is apparently photocopying ideas with suspicious enthusiasm and a very busy copier.

While Prime Video prepares to clone a fan-favorite storyline, the real puzzle is which Spider-Man duplicates get screen time.

Prime Video is closing in on an order for a Clone Saga series set in Sony Pictures' Universe of Marvel Characters, Deadline reports. The story centers on the second Clone Saga arc, which follows Spider-Man clones Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker. Kelvin Yu, creator of American Born Chinese, is writing the project. It will succeed Spider-Noir, which Prime Video canceled earlier this month after just one season. 

Details remain scarce, and sources caution that significant changes could arrive. Deadline also heard conflicting accounts, with some saying the series follows Reilly and Parker as they grapple with their clone identities while facing other clones. Others claim the origins may change, giving the duo new identities. The show will debut on MGM+ before streaming on Prime Video, with Amy Pascal, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller expected to executive produce.

While the Clone Saga plans its duplicates, the show it replaces keeps collecting trophies like a true original.

Spider-Noir picked up five trophies at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys, just days after Prime Video confirmed the series would not return. The wins came in stunt coordination for comedy programming, sound editing for a one-hour comedy or drama series, title design, special visual effects in a single episode, and cinematography for a series. Nicolas Cage led the black-and-white detective story as Ben Reilly, a weary private eye haunted by loss.

Spider-Noir entered Emmy weekend with 11 nominations, the biggest haul for any Prime Video program. The series also holds a 92% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes and pulled in 2.6 billion viewing minutes in the United States during its first six weeks, according to Nielsen. Those numbers make the cancellation look like a plot twist nobody ordered. The comic book Clone Saga is now the streamer’s next Spider-Man move.
