In the realm of conservation and environmental advocacy, there is one name that shines above the rest. Over the years, Prince Harry has constantly strived to prove his dedication to the preservation of Africa. While his hard work and effort have been nothing short of remarkable, he recently was acknowledged for his dedication to African Parks. Although the Duke has been put on blast for not practicing what he preaches, it looks like that might be changing.
Due to the time he spent safeguarding the continent’s wildlife and habitats, the Duke of Sussex was just given the promotion he deserved.

Prince Harry’s love for Africa comes as no surprise. While it began when he was just a child, his love has not faded over the years. The 39-year-old is a very strong supporter of the conservation of the continent and has spoken out about it many times. In fact, he even teamed up with African Parks to make a difference. Now, after 6 years of being the President, the Duke was just appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the organization.

The conservation NGO recently updated its website to show Prince Harry, who was now a member of the Board. On the page, the organization goes into detail about the Duke’s contribution. From implementing projects to hosting groups from the US to see the work that was being done, it was evident that this was a cause close to his heart. While he might be in the spotlight for his love for Africa, Princess Diana was one of the firsts to work for the welfare of the continent.
Although it could be a case of like mother like son, Princess Diana paved the way for Prince Harry’s astounding love and care for the continent of Africa.
Princess Diana’s work in Africa
Just like her son after her, Princess Diana made frequent visits to South Africa. From doing humanitarian work on AIDS charities, she did her best to ensure that people got the resources and help they needed. In fact, she even met with some of Africa’s leaders, including Nelson Mandela. While she was a very vocal supporter of the people, it evidently did not stop at her homeland.

Just months before her tragic death in 1977, she walked through an active minefield in Angola to learn how to clear away the explosives. While her bravery struck a nerve with the rest of the world, it made a special place in the hearts of the African people. In fact, Prince Harry’s love for Africa might even hit a little too close to home for the people living there, as it would make them reminisce about his late mother.
