His & Hers captivated audiences by sending Tessa Thompson’s former news anchor Anna Andrews back to her Georgia hometown after a murder pulls her into reporting, putting her at odds with Jon Bernthal’s estranged husband, Detective Jack Harper.
The psychological thriller became Netflix’s most-watched show of the first half of 2026, collecting 104 million global views from January through June.
That success has now opened the door for another Alice Feeney thriller to reach the screen.

Twist series development announced
Deadline reported that the team behind His & Hers is reuniting with Fifth Season to adapt Feeney’s upcoming novel Twist as a television series. William Oldroyd is returning to write and direct, with Fifth Season serving as the studio. Kristen Campo’s Campout Productions, Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael’s Freckle Films, and Bill Dubuque and Tessa Thompson’s Viva Maude are also involved.

The novel follows Ariella, a flight attendant who has built two separate married lives. In one, she is Noah’s wife and a mother in a picturesque village. In the other, she is Luka’s glamorous new bride in London. A murder tears through that arrangement and pulls the story into questions about marriage, secrecy and revenge, with its two-perspective structure driving the mystery. Macmillan lists the U.S. publication date as February 23, 2027.
No cast or distributor has been announced for the adaptation yet, as Deadline reported, but the creative continuity is significant. Fifth Season executive Noah Greenshner pointed to the success of His & Hers as proof of what the group can achieve together, while Feeney described the reunion as a dream come true.
And one of His & Hers’ biggest stars is also seeing his own franchise future expand in a very different corner of television and film.
Jon Bernthal’s Punisher future is getting bigger
Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle has returned to the MCU through Daredevil: Born Again, the Disney+ special The Punisher: One Last Kill, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Marvel officially released One Last Kill on May 12, 2026, with Bernthal also co-writing the special alongside director Reinaldo Marcus Green.

A further Punisher project remains unconfirmed by Marvel Studios. Industry insider Daniel Richtman has reported that the studio is considering a television series or theatrical film for Castle’s next solo chapter. ComicBook.com has echoed that report while stressing that Marvel has made no official announcement.
The timing gives the rumor some context. Daredevil: Born Again is set to conclude with its third season in 2027, leaving questions about where Marvel’s street-level characters go next. Bernthal, meanwhile, has already said One Last Kill opened the door to a version of Frank who personalizes his war against people hurting innocent civilians.
