Adria Arjona has now put $500 on the line over whether she is playing Wonder Woman in Man of Tomorrow. The actress has spent months operating inside one of the DCU’s most carefully guarded casting mysteries, with Maxima and Wonder Woman remaining the names most often attached to her role. After a run of increasingly revealing comments and a physically punishing training regimen, Arjona has found a particularly playful way to keep the speculation alive.

There is a reason this particular rumor refuses to disappear.

During her appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused, Adria Arjona found herself facing the sort of question that has become almost ritualistic for superhero actors: who exactly is she playing? Josh Horowitz eventually put some money behind his theory.

He told Arjona, “I’ll bet you $500 you are playing Wonder Woman.” 

“It feels like you're going to lose either way. You're giving me $500. I'll take this bet… I like the charity element of it. You want We'll take that bet. $500 you donate to one of my charities,” she said. 

Rather than simply swat the idea away, Arjona countered with Maxima, asking for the bet to work both ways, on Horowitz's podcast. Arjona has already confirmed that she knew exactly which character she was auditioning for, even while keeping the identity hidden from the public. James Gunn himself previously acknowledged that Arjona would make a great Diana, while stressing that the earlier speculation came from their existing relationship rather than a casting confirmation.

For an actress whose career has increasingly moved between franchise spectacle and sharper genre work, the mystery has arrived at an unusually busy moment.

Adria Arjona has quietly built the kind of résumé that makes a major DCU promotion like the next turn in a carefully winding career. Andor gave her a character-driven foothold inside Star Wars, while Hit Man, Blink Twice and Onslaught have continued to position her as an actor comfortable with physicality, danger and characters who refuse to sit neatly inside conventional archetypes. Her upcoming slate only adds to that momentum, with The Thomas Crown Affair alongside Michael B. Jordan and Man of Tomorrow placing her in two very different corners of studio filmmaking.

Yet the most revealing part of this phase of her career may be how often Arjona has allowed uncertainty to become part of the performance. Her training for Man of Tomorrow has included roughly 45 minutes of cardio, two hours of weightlifting and six rounds of boxing, giving the Wonder Woman theory plenty of visual fuel even though physical preparation is hardly proof of a character. That same willingness to throw herself into difficult material surfaced with Scorn, where Arjona recently admitted that she nearly walked away from the erotic thriller because she feared she did not have the tools to play its morally complicated lead.

For now, the $500 remains a joke with no official winner. Whether Arjona eventually walks into the DCU as Maxima, Wonder Woman or another surprise entirely, the mystery has become one of the most intriguing pieces of Man of Tomorrow.
