The Bachelorette vanishes online amid Taylor Frankie Paul controversy

The Walt Disney Company, together with ABC, has removed all official press websites, show promotion materials, and digital content that contained information about the upcoming The Bachelorette season just days after they cancelled its premiere. The complete digital deletion of all materials that followed the season cancellation has caused a stir among dedicated viewers of the show, who quickly noticed that ABC's official press page for the show had been deleted along with promotional content tied to Taylor Frankie Paul's casting.

The public backlash and industry concern erupted after a video from 2023, published by TMZ, showed Paul attacking her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, during a violent fight.

The repercussions of the situation have spread beyond the boundaries of the television program. The dating series, which has operated for many years now, faces an unpredictable future as sponsors have withdrawn their support, and related productions have stopped.

This is not the first professional disruption Paul has faced following the allegations and investigations into domestic violence. Apart from The Bachelorette's disappearance from the public eye, recently, the production of the fifth season of Paul's hit Hulu series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, stopped production abruptly due to her current legal troubles.

The production team decided to cancel The Bachelorette Season 22, which was scheduled for release on March 22, 2026, marking one of the most dramatic last-minute cancellations in the franchise's history. The network executives cited a need to protect the family as the domestic violence controversy intensified. However, the airtime spot reserved by the show will not go entirely in vain now.

While The Bachelorette will no longer air every week, yet another trusted and long-running show is set to take its place.

What replaces The Bachelorette on ABC?

ABC has chosen to implement a temporary solution because it needs to fill the time slot left empty after the show was cancelled. The Bachelorette-sized hole left on ABC's Sundays will be filled by a rerun of American Idol at 8 PM ET, according to People. However, this solution does not seem to last beyond a short while.

Meanwhile, Hulu’s new dating competition, Love Overboard, previously slated to air at 10 PM ET,  could also face a shakeup considering the current circumstances surrounding Taylor Frankie Paul.
