A massive sinkhole seems to have changed Nicolas Cage’s Halloween plans this year. The actor owns a beautiful beachfront property in Malibu, Los Angeles, reportedly worth a jaw-dropping $10.5 million. However, a shocking incident in September this year turned the place into a nightmare.

A massive sinkhole opened up dangerously close to the actor’s Malibu mansion. While Cage himself is safe, the unexpected disaster has led to some changes in his life. And one such change has been his Halloween plans, as the actor made a shocking confession.

Nicolas Cage was recently in attendance at the L.A. Comic Con. During the event, he was asked about his Halloween plans, and the actor revealed that he had to make certain changes because of his issue with his house. He further added that he is not currently staying in his Malibu mansion.

“I’m currently a little bit homeless, he said. “Something happened to my house in Malibu so I’m just sort of living in hotels so I don’t have normal trick or treaters I would like to enjoy tonight.”

However, he said (via Page Six) that he will be taking his 4-year-old daughter, August, out trick or treating in Santa Monica, California. And perhaps later, he could watch Stanley Kubrick’s horror movie, The Shining. So it seems the actor, who had always been honest about his opinion including his stance on AI, is trying to make the most of the situation.

This is after the actor’s property had heavy damage due to the sinkhole, leading to the actor and his neighbors moving out.

As per reports, Nicolas Cage’s home in LA had major destruction, such as his driveway that was swallowed up by the sinkhole. Because of the size and depth of the sinkhole, Cage's neighbors also had to be evacuated. As reported by the Post, 7 houses on the street were marked as unsafe after the disaster.

24 houses were set to be red-tagged due to lack of safe vehicular access. Moreover, as per Page Six, Cage has filed three permits within a few days of the sinkhole forming. The actor also requested an emergency building permit with city officials, where he got the permission to pack sandbags against the beach and the exterior of the home for wave protection and to avoid further coastal erosion. So it seems the actor will be quite busy with his work and the shocking challenge this  year.
