“A Glorious Time” – Elizabeth Debicki Looks Back on Making Brad Pitt’s ‘The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth’
Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth is trading the sun-soaked chaos of 1969 Hollywood for a very different kind of trouble in the upcoming sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. This time, David Fincher is stepping behind the camera, bringing his trademark cinematic precision to a story set eight years after the events of the Oscar-winning 2019 film. With Pitt returning as the effortlessly unpredictable stuntman, the sequel is already shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most intriguing film releases of the year.
And for Elizabeth Debicki, joining this particular Hollywood reunion was clearly more than another exciting credit on her filmography. The actress has now shared just how much she enjoyed stepping into Fincher and Pitt’s cinematic playground.

Speaking about her experience making The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, Elizabeth Debicki described the production as an exceptionally rewarding experience. Debicki plays Karen Crosby, a talent agent who brings Cliff back into the orbit of Hollywood's more complicated characters. She approaches him on behalf of her client, television star Charlie Peters, played by Scott Caan.
“It was a glorious time making it… A total joy. I loved working with Brad [Pitt] and just adore David [Fincher],” she said.
Her enthusiasm on Deadline, echoes her earlier comments to PEOPLE at the Sundance Film Festival in February 2026, where she called the production a dream to make and revealed that filming had taken nearly six months in Los Angeles. The role puts Debicki in the middle of a story populated by ambitious industry players, questionable dealings, and characters who know that Hollywood's glamorous exterior rarely tells the whole story. Her casting also reunites her with Fincher, whose meticulous filmmaking makes this an especially interesting addition to her post-The Crown career.
But Debicki is only one piece of the ensemble. The bigger attraction is seeing what happens when Tarantino's distinctive storytelling meets Fincher's darker cinematic sensibilities.
Brad Pitt returns as Cliff Booth in a very different Hollywood
Set in 1977, eight years after Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, the sequel finds Cliff navigating an industry that has changed considerably since his days as Rick Dalton's stunt double. He is now working as a bartender, cinema projectionist, and Hollywood fixer, taking care of problems that the industry's powerful figures would rather keep away from public view. Alongside Brad Pitt and Elizabeth Debicki, the cast includes Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Timothy Olyphant, and Scott Caan.

There is also an interesting change behind the camera. Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay but handed directing duties to David Fincher, with Pitt helping bring the collaboration together. AFter the new trailer immersed the fans, the film will receive an exclusive two-week IMAX theatrical run beginning November 25, 2026, before arriving on Netflix on December 23.
For fans of the original, the combination promises another entertaining detour through Hollywood's stranger corners. With Debicki already singing its praises, anticipation for Cliff Booth's return is building.
