Sebastian Stan is not holding back on lauding Matt Reeves’ vision for The Batman Part II. Reeves stunned the superhero genre and fans with his daring attempt to treat his rendition of Batman as a subjective, psychological neo-noir detective story rather than treating it as a standard superhero blockbuster.

Instead of prioritizing massive action sequences, the narrative centers on clues, riddles, and exploring the deep, systemic corruption rotting Gotham City from the inside out. And all these elements would have accounted for nothing if not for his exceptional skills as a storyteller, transforming grim, depressing beats into an immersive superhero marvel.

This filmmaking prowess is what Stan recently raved about, praising his vision for the sequel.

Sebastian Stan gushing about Matt Reeves

The mystery surrounding Sebastian Stan’s undisclosed role in The Batman Part II continues to keep DC enthusiasts guessing. While internet speculation runs the gamut from iconic villains like Two-Face and Victor Zsasz to the master manipulator Hush, moviegoers remain entirely in the dark. True to form, during a recent appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Avengers: Doomsday star expertly sidestepped the line of questioning, successfully dodging the drop of any tangible hints regarding his secretive DC character.

But what he did talk about was the riveting script of The Batman sequel coming in 2027 and the brilliance of Matt Reeves. The actor commended the filmmaker for intensely refining the material and steering a clear creative vision, expressing genuine excitement to be part of such an ambitious undertaking.

“I have a lot of faith in it because I do feel like Matt is truly a genius of our time and one of the very few people that I think is so unique and so specific and has been at this for three years. I mean, it's not an accident," Stan said about Reeves.

He continued his Happy Sad Confused interview, adding that the production feels distinctly unlike anything he has tackled in his previous career, Stan emphasized his confidence that the final cinematic result will be nothing short of great. With his words, he teased almost enough to get the engines of all the Batman fans out there roaring loud.

While the exact nature of that secretive part remains under wraps, the actor will soon trade Gotham's shadows for a very familiar cinematic universe when he reprises his role as Bucky Barnes in Avengers: Doomsday.

Sebastian Stan to soon return to his MCU character

Sebastian Stan remains deeply invested in Bucky's ongoing evolution, and will soon join his Thunderbolts crew to accompany them in Avengers: Doomsday. However, there have been rumors circling around the ultimate fate of Winter Soldier in the upcoming Avengers sequel, and it does not look good for him.

Fueling the frenzy is a constellation of clues: persistent internet whispers identifying Victor von Doom as his killer, Sebastian Stan’s own deliberately evasive statements, and the actor landing a major gig across the aisle with a rival studio. While these breadcrumbs have moviegoers bracing themselves for a heartbreaking exit, speculation should not be confused with concrete confirmation. For the time being, rumors of the character's demise remain purely speculative rather than confirmed canon.
