Taylor Sheridan clearly did not leave the Yellowstone dust behind; he simply traded ranch fences for badges, guns, and Montana law enforcement. Marshals exists in the same universe, following Luke Grimes’ Kayce Dutton several years after the Dutton Ranch saga concluded. The former cowboy and ranch protector is now an elite US Marshal, carrying his Navy SEAL past and ranch-born trauma into his new job.

And with beloved Yellowstone characters already appearing, another fan-favorite is seemingly saddling up for Season 2.

Jefferson White is saddling back up as Jimmy Hurdstrom, with the actor set to reprise his Yellowstone role in Season 2 of Marshals at CBS. White will recur in the second season of the CBS drama, which stars fellow Yellowstone alum Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. The return brings another familiar face from the Yellowstone universe into the fold.

The actor said he was thrilled to dive into the world of Marshals and continue exploring the American West. White also praised the cast and crew, saying they were stacked full of his favorite actors and filmmakers. For White, returning as Jimmy Hurdstrom means another chance to see where the character’s story can go.

“Jimmy and I have been through a lot together, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for us,” White said in a statement (via Deadline).

Exactly how Jimmy Hurdstrom will be worked into the show remains to be seen. Yellowstone fans will remember that Jimmy’s storyline concluded with John Dutton giving Jimmy his blessing to return to Texas and the 6666 Ranch permanently. Jimmy had built a life there as a cowboy and horse trainer, making his return to the Yellowstone universe an unexpected next chapter.
